Your First Name Change Is Free

When you first change your name in Clash of Clans, Supercell doesn't charge you anything. Here's how to do it:

2. Tap the Settings gear icon (top right of the screen)
3. Tap "More Settings"
4. Select "Change Name"
5. Type your new name and tap "Change Name" to confirm

Every Change After That Costs Gems 💎

After your free name change, subsequent changes cost 500 gems each. That's a meaningful amount, especially for newer players who haven't accumulated gems through gameplay or purchases.

This gem cost applies regardless of how long it's been since your last change. There's no waiting period that resets the price back to free. Once you've used your freebie, 500 gems is the standing rate for every future rename.

Name Rules You Need to Know
