How to Delete a Page From Your Facebook Account
Deleting a Facebook Page is permanent — and that distinction matters before you take any action. Facebook separates deactivating a Page from deleting it entirely, and the steps you follow depend on your role, your device, and how your Page was originally set up. Here's what you need to know before you commit.
Deleting vs. Deactivating: Know the Difference First
These two options are easy to confuse, and Facebook doesn't always make the distinction obvious.
- Deactivating a Page hides it from the public temporarily. Your content, followers, and settings are preserved. You can reactivate at any time.
- Deleting a Page is permanent. After a short grace period (typically 14 days), Facebook removes the Page, its posts, photos, and all associated data. This cannot be undone.
If you manage a Page for a business or organization you might return to, deactivation is usually the safer first step. If you're certain you no longer need the Page — it's the wrong account type, the project is over, or you set it up by mistake — deletion is the right path.
Who Can Delete a Facebook Page?
Not everyone connected to a Page can delete it. Only an admin has the ability to permanently delete or deactivate a Page. If you're an editor, moderator, or advertiser on the Page, you won't see those options in your settings.
Facebook has also been migrating Pages into its New Pages Experience, which changes where settings live and what the management interface looks like. If your Page is on the new system, the navigation paths are slightly different from the classic layout — more on that below.
How to Delete a Facebook Page on Desktop 🖥️
- Log into Facebook and navigate to your Page (via the left-hand menu or by searching your Page name).
- Click Manage or go directly to your Page's settings.
- In the left-hand menu, look for Page Settings or Settings & Privacy.
- Scroll to find Page Visibility or look under the General settings section.
- Depending on your Page type, you'll find an option labeled Delete Page — sometimes under a subsection called Remove Page.
- Facebook will show a confirmation screen. If you proceed, the Page enters a 14-day deletion window. During this window, you can cancel the deletion by returning to the Page and selecting Cancel Deletion.
After 14 days, deletion is final and irreversible.
How to Delete a Facebook Page on Mobile 📱
The mobile experience differs slightly depending on whether you're using the Facebook app on iOS or Android, and whether your Page is on the classic or new Pages Experience.
- Open the Facebook app and tap the Menu (three horizontal lines).
- Tap Pages and select the Page you want to manage.
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) near the top of the Page or look for a Settings gear icon.
- Scroll to General settings, then look for Delete Page or Remove Page.
- Follow the confirmation prompts. The same 14-day grace period applies.
Some users find that certain settings — including deletion — are easier to access from a desktop browser than through the app. If you can't locate the delete option on mobile, switching to a browser (even on your phone) and navigating to Facebook's desktop site often surfaces settings that the app buries.
Common Reasons You Can't Find the Delete Option
If the delete option isn't appearing, a few variables may explain it:

Pages Linked to Meta Business Suite or Business Manager
If your Page was set up under Meta Business Suite or the older Business Manager, you may need to remove or transfer the Page through that platform rather than through standard Page settings.
In that case:
- Go to business.facebook.com
- Navigate to Business Settings > Pages
- From there you can remove the Page from the Business portfolio, which is a separate action from deleting the Page itself
Removing a Page from a Business portfolio doesn't delete it — it just disconnects it from that business account. To fully delete, you'd still need to go through the Page's own settings as an admin.
The 14-Day Window: Why It Exists
Facebook's grace period exists specifically because Page deletion is irreversible. During those 14 days, the Page becomes invisible to the public, but you retain the ability to cancel the process. Any admin on the Page can trigger that cancellation — which matters if multiple people manage the Page and there's a disagreement about the decision.
Once the window closes, no support request, appeal, or account recovery process will restore the Page or its content.
What Happens to Your Content After Deletion
All posts, photos, videos, reviews, and follower data tied to the Page are permanently removed. If the Page had a custom URL (vanity URL), that username doesn't automatically become available for re-use — Facebook's policies on username recycling are inconsistent and not guaranteed.
If there's content on the Page you want to preserve — photos, posts, customer reviews — download your Page data first through Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download Your Information before initiating deletion.
