Speech and text analysis tools are increasingly used in clinical settings to assist therapists — not replace them — by surfacing patterns a human might miss across hundreds of sessions.

Large language models (LLMs) like the ones powering conversational AI can hold surprisingly coherent discussions about emotional topics, but they aren't trained specifically as therapists and don't operate within a clinical framework.
